John Joseph Hagan

With a heavy heart, we sadly announce the passing of John Joseph Hagan, due to natural causes, on July 3,2025. John was born 96 years ago to John and Winifred (Brown) Hagan.
He resided in Someville, MA, until he met his beloved Grace McKenne, with whom he was very happily married to for 67 years until her passing. Together they raised 5 children together, beginning their family in Dorchester, MA. They soon moved to Rockland where they both lived out their lives. Along the way they formed long and lasting friendships with many people. They both loved traveling with some of those friends, creating long and lasting memories.
John served in the Navy and then began his long career as a pipefitter for Local 537. John loved to bowl and was a member of a couple bowling leagues. He was a giving man who would help anyone who needed a hand with projects as he was very handy. He never hesitated in doing so. He also loved getting fried clams with his wife and later, with his eldest son at The Clam Box.
He was the remaining of the siblings. Predeceased by his 5 sisters, Kay, Mary, Madeline, Gladys, and Frances, and his brother, Edmund James. He was dearly loved by his 5 children, John and Jane (Walsh) of Hanson, Kenneth and Linda (McKinnon) of Marshfield, MaryEllen (Maze), Jeannie, and Richard, all of Rockland.
He has left behind his 6 grandchildren as well as 12 great grandchildren. He also leaves behind his close and wonderful neighbor and friend, Susan Harkin, as well as many nieces and nephews. Last but not least he leaves behind Alex, the family dog, and Lucky, his beloved African Gray Parrot.
