John Preston Hamm, 63 of Ewing, Kentucky passed away Thursday, October 3, 2024, in the Fleming County Hospital in Flemingsburg, Kentucky after an extended illness. He was born May 17, 1961, in Morehead, Kentucky to the late Johnnie Preston Hamm and Lillie Mae Stevens Hamm.
John was the owner and operator of Hamm's Tire and Welding and enjoyed fishing, hunting, time with family, grilling, cooking and attending church.
He attended the Greater Rain Community Church in Flemingsburg.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother Vince Dwaine Hamm.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Williams Hamm. five sons, Jonathan Preston Hamm, Jr. and his wife Pam of Grayson, Kentucky, Zechairah Omer Hamm, Jessie Noah Hamm, Eugene Hamm and Alexander Hamm all of Fleming County. Three daughters, Tina Marie Lilly Hamm and her fiancé Joshua Porter of Wallingford, Kentucky, Amanda Wright and her husband Austin of Morehead and Felicia Hamm of Flemingsburg. Four sisters, Bertha Click and her husband Roscoe and Debra Click and her husband Henry all of Elliott County, Kentucky. Sandra Rister and her husband Clay of Lewis County, Kentucky and Nora Jane Lewis and her husband John of Greenup, Kentucky. Five grandchildren, Bryan Hamm, Diana Morales, Karolina Hamm, Zairekade Omer Hamm and Easton Black. Also, several nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, October 9, 2024, in the chapel of the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Morehead with Brother Oscar Riley and Brother Jacob White officiating.
Burial will follow in the Adams-Plank Cemetery on Cranston Road.
Visitation at the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Morehead is after 5:00 P.M. Tuesday.
Pall bearers will be Jonathan Preston Hamm, Jr., Zechairah Omer Hamm, Jessie Noah Hamm, Eugene Hamm, Alexander Hamm, Bryan Hamm, Aaron Staton and Gerald Staton.
