John Mark Hardebeck was born in Lisbon, ND February 28, 1954 to John B and Elaine (Waldhalm) Hardebeck. He graduated from Lisbon High School in 1972 and began a 44 year career at Melroe Bobcat. Mark loved the Lord Jesus Christ, the Holy Catholic Church, his Family, his Dear Friends and Keystone Light!
No one enjoyed life more than Mark. His laugh could be heard for miles and will be remembered by all who knew him. There wasn't much he couldn't fix or build or demolish. Mark poured his heart into every detail of life. He loved his grandchildren; Tyler Leber, Emily Hardebeck, Nolan Hardebeck, Lily Fowler, Louise Fowler, Andrew Hardebeck and Savanna Traub and enjoyed spending time with them whenever he could.
Mark is survived by his wife Jodi (Hills) and her extended family that adore him. He was a very proud father and grandfather to son Aaron (Nikki) Hardebeck and their children and his daughter Amy (Eric) Fowler and their children. He will be dearly missed by his sister Rita Garland and her extended family as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins and all who called him friend.
Against all odds, he survived nearly nine years battling stage 4 prostate cancer. For that matter he survived many mishaps that would have killed anyone else over his 69 years. He passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 12, 2023 on his own terms!
Father Riley Durkin, you brought so much peace to our home. Thank-you for your care and guidance. You brought great light when things were looking very dark.
We are eternally grateful for Hospice of the Red River Valley for getting him home where he wanted to be. We were blessed with an Angel when Christina Ferderer entered our home to manage his care.
Dr. Panwalker and his team at Roger Maris Cancer Center gave Mark's family many bonus years of life and a whole lot of tender loving care, for that we thank you.
Pastor John Werth and the Prayer Warriors of the Bathgate, Hamilton Presbyterian Church who prayed for YEARS for a Catholic Boy from Lisbon, may God continue to bless and hold you as you have held us.
To all who took part in his care over the years, you will not be forgotten.
If you would like to honor Mark with a memorial, we ask that you make a donation to Hospice of the Red River Valley or the Roger Maris Cancer Center. You could also just buy the next round of ice cold beer and laugh with your friends.
A visitation will be held on Monday, October 16, 2023 from 4:00 to 4:30 p.m. at St. Aloysius Catholic Church, Lisbon, ND followed by his prayer service at 4:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday, October 17, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Aloysius Catholic Church followed by burial at St. Aloysius Catholic Cemetery near Lisbon. Pallbearers will be Mark's grandchildren. His service will be live streamed.
