John Hayes Obituary
Born in Munfordville to Clarence and Evelyn Hayes, John built a life grounded in hard work and simple joys. He spent many years as a dedicated Supervisor.
He found peace in the things he loved most - casting a line on a still morning, tinkering on projects in his garage, and sharing stories with anyone who stopped by. Above all, his greatest joy came from his family. He absolutely adored his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father, Clarence Hayes; mother, Evelyn Hayes; and sisters, Lucille Sexton and Athel Logsdon.
He is survived by his loving wife, Mary Louise Hayes of Cecilia, KY; his son, Johnnie (Tammy) Hayes, Jr. of Cecilia, KY; his sister, Wilma Waddell of Horse Cave, KY; grandchildren, Michael (Jessica) Hayes, Shawn (Kayla) Hayes, Kendall (Josh) Reichardt, and Cody Helm (Azaria); and great-grandchildren, John Hayes, Shawn Hayes, Tristan King, Grace Hayes, Henry Hayes, and Harleigh Reichardt.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, January 29, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at Manakee Funeral Home in Elizabethtown, KY, with Bro. Dale Duvall officiating. Burial will follow at Elizabethtown Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be Wednesday, January 28, 2026 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., and Thursday, January 29, 2026 from 9:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m., at Manakee Funeral Home in Elizabethtown, KY.
