Mr. John Sherman Hoover, Jr., a resident of Lawrenceburg, Tennessee, passed away on his 75th birthday, Saturday, September 20, 2025, at Southern Tennessee Regional Health Systems in Lawrenceburg.
Born on September 20, 1950, in Millington, Tennessee, John was the son of Norma J. McCrory and the late John Sherman Hoover, Sr. He dedicated over twenty years of his career as a district sales representative for Hiram Walker/Allied Domecq. He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corp and was a proud patriot.
He was an avid outdoorsman who found joy in golfing and hunting. He was a dedicated Nascar and University of Tennessee football fan. John especially loved to cook.
John was a devoted father, loving son, proud grandfather, supportive brother, and cherished uncle. His larger-than-life personality made him the life of every gathering, and his warmth and humor left a lasting impression on everyone he met.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his daughters, Michelle (Jim) Peterson and Melanie (Chuck) Graves, sisters, Greta Lindstrom and Judy Hoover, and grandson, Nash Peterson.
The family will hold a private celebration of life at a later date. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
