John Hudson Obituary
John Wayne Hudson, born May 11, 1946, departed this life on August 24, 2025. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather and will be greatly missed.
John had a natural talent for fixing things. He lived for most of his life in Elizabeth City, NC, where he had a long career with IBM repairing all kinds of computers and any other machines that kept local businesses running.
After retirement, he moved to Chapel Hill, NC to be closer to be closer to his grandchildren. He enjoyed being out on the water, tinkering in his garage, visiting the beach, and spending time with family.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce Hudson; his daughter, Jaci Schmid; son-in-law, Adi Schmid; and three beloved grandchildren, Nadia, Tetra, and Toby Schmid.
The family would like to express appreciation to the compassionate and caring staff of the UNC Medicine Intensive Care Unit, who took such good care of John during his final days.
