John Joseph Sr., 60, of Glen Rock, NJ, passed away on Friday, June 20, 2025. John was a graduate of Paramus High School ('83) and pursued his love of cooking at the Culinary Institute of America ('85) in Hyde Park, NY. John's passion for hospitality sustained a decorated 30-plus-year career in the industry, culminating in his proudest professional achievement: opening Iachetti's Kitchen in 2018, a family-owned restaurant in Glen Rock, NJ.
Even more than his dedication to his craft, John deeply cherished time spent with family and friends. His greatest joy came from being with his four children. He loved watching his sons, John Jr. and Luca, chase their dreams on the football and soccer fields, and he could often be seen cheering them on from the sidelines with a proud smile. John found great joy in watching his daughters, Jaclyn and Jenna, follow in his footsteps, each building budding careers in the hospitality industry, a tribute to his talent and legacy.
In recent years, John excelled in one of his most cherished roles: "Pa" to his three grandchildren, Sawyer, Brody, and Hayden. He adored every moment laughing with and spoiling them with the best oversized toys, even when they took hours to assemble.
In his downtime, John loved relaxing with his favorite television shows and cheering on his favorite teams, the New York Yankees and New York Jets.
John will be remembered for his big smile, his kind and generous heart, infectious laugh, quick wit, and remarkable ability to make everyone feel like family. His presence could light up a room and his absence leaves an immeasurable void in the lives of so many.
John was a devoted husband to Cheryl; proud and loving father to Jaclyn (Thomas) Loughner, Jenna (Kenneth Conrade) Iachetti, John Iachetti, Jr., and Luca Iachetti; and fun Pa to Sawyer, Brody, and Hayden Loughner.
John is survived by his beloved parents, Yolanda and Peter Iachetti, and his siblings Virginia (Steven) Zmuda and Anthony (Maria) Iachetti. He leaves behind many nieces and nephews who he loved dearly: Gina Recine, Eddie Zmuda, Stephanie Zmuda, Victoria Zmuda, Peter Iachetti, Alana Iachetti, Avrey Cloutier, Sam Cloutier, and Gabi Michaels. He is also survived by his kind in-laws John and Joann Michaels, Michelle (Tim) Cloutier and John (Bruna) Michaels Jr..
Family will receive friends on Thursday, June 26, 2025, 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm, at the Vander Plaat Memorial Home, 113 South Fairview Avenue, Paramus, NJ. Funeral Mass Friday, 10am, at St. Catharine Roman Catholic Church, 905 South Maple Ave., Glen Rock, NJ 07452. Interment for family and close friends will immediately follow at Garden of Memories, Township of Washington, NJ.
