John F. Janus, of Union Township passed away the morning of May 9, 2025 at his residence.
Born in New Castle on September 29, 1947, John was the son of the late Edward and Virginia Toscano Janus.
John is survived by his beloved wife, the former Debra Fisher. The two were married on November 2, 2010.
John was a Culinary Chef and managed all of the Pappan's Restaurants in PA for many years. He then started his own restaurant, JJ's Family Restaurant in New Castle, on Wilmington Road.
John was an avid golfer and enjoyed teaching his grandson, Jaxson to golf. John loved eating at Golden Corral with family and friends, going camping and playing cards, but only with his daughter-in-law, Brandi Lynch. He loved talking politics and was a great fan of President Trump. John loved dogs and will be greatly missed by his beloved dog, Bigs. A loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, John's greatest joy was spending time with his family and especially going to his grandchildren's activities and sports events.
In addition to his wife, John is survived by his brother, Dr. Edward Janus (Sandy), his four step-children, Michael Lynch (Winter), Thomas Lynch, Jennifer Herold (Dave) and Pat Frabotta (Megan), his wonderful grandchildren and great-granddaughter and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his daughter-in-law, Brandi Lynch.
Honoring his wishes a Private Memorial service will be held at the Ed & Don DeCarbo Funeral Home & Crematory, 3000 Wilmington Road officiated by Rev. Richard Nero.
In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions may be made to the Lawrence County Humane Society, 628 Pearson Mill Road, New Castle, PA 16101.
