Mr. John Dale Jeffress, age 80, of the Murvaul Community of Panola County passed away Monday, July 14, 2025, at his home in the Murvaul Community. John was born December 7, 1944 in Panola County, Texas to John Arnold and Sylvia Parrish Jeffress. He graduated from Clear Creek High School in Liberty, Texas and later received an Associate's Degree in Business. John married Patricia King on April 8, 1976 in Carthage and together they celebrated 49 years. He worked for TXU as a heavy equipment operator and later for Russell and Sons until his retirement. John loved dressing up for special holidays and occasions, especially as Uncle Sam for the 4th of July. After retirement John loved taking care of the grandchildren and his house became affectionately known as "Papa John's Daycare". John is preceded in death by his parents. John is survived by his loving wife, Patricia Jeffress; children, John David Jeffress and wife Elaine, Jay Don Jeffress, Joy Denise Paramore and husband Marty, Jill Danielle Cassell and husband Ken; grandchildren, Steven Jeffress, Monty Mullins, Kate King, Jaden Drake Jeffress, Jett Deacon Jeffress, Ranger Jeffress; numerous step-grandchildren; and step-great grandchildren. Other relatives and friends also survive Mr. Jeffress. A visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. on Friday, July 18, 2025 at Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home, 1131 State Hwy 149, Carthage, Texas 75633. Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home. A guestbook may be signed online at www.jimerson-lipsey.com.
