Spilsbury Mortuary - St. GeorgeAnn Cowell Jeffress of St. George, Utah, passed away on Saturday, November 15, 2025. She was born on October 22, 1946 in Los Angeles, CA to Olive and Henry Cowell. She married the love of her life, John Jeffress, on July 11, 1968; and they were later sealed in the Los Angeles Temple on June 18, 1993.
Ann was raised in Long Beach, CA. She graduated from Cal State Long Beach and the University of San Francisco. She spent her career as a nurse, both for the VA Hospital in Long Beach and her all-time favorite job at Disneyland. She enjoyed caring for others her entire life.
Family meant everything to Ann. She loved being a wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Making memories with the people she loved was the top priority in her life. One of her favorite things to do was to hold "Camp Grandma & Camp Grandpa" every summer. Everyone who attended this annual event left with stronger family relationships and big smiles.
She loved being a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints! She loved her Savior and always strived to follow His example. After she retired, she and John served a mission in Little Rock, Arkansas. Some other favorite church callings included serving in the Relief Society presidency and teaching the children in Primary.
In her free time, Ann found great joy in photography and writing poetry. She also delighted in serving everyone in her neighborhood with her husband. She and John visited people daily with fresh fruit, cookies, brownies, and/or flowers. Ann gave the best hugs, and her eyes lit up when she saw her family and friends. She and John were a light and a pillar of strength to countless individuals.
Ann is survived by her husband, John Jeffress; her daughters and sons-in-law, Jennifer and Brian Wilson and Mary and Kelton Lloyd; her grandchildren, Maya and Will Bishop, Alexis Douglas, Elizabeth and Austin Brady, Sarah and Spencer Wirthlin, Emma and Kaden Gardner, Isaac Lloyd, and Rachel Lloyd; and her great grandchildren, William Emerson Bishop and Afton Rae Brady. Ann is preceded in death by her parents, Olive and Henry Cowell; her brothers, Frank and Tom Cowell; and her sisters, Barbara East and Mary Louise Cowell.
