Spilsbury Mortuary - St. GeorgeMichale Todd Benson, affectionately known as Mikee, passed away on October 23, 2025, in St. George, Utah, at the age of 64. Born on May 4, 1961, in Cedar City, Utah, Mike spent most of his life in the southern part of the state he loved.
Raised in St. George, Mike developed a strong work ethic early in life. A proud graduate of Dixie High School, he held a variety of jobs throughout his youth and adulthood-from milking cows at a local dairy to working at gas stations and restaurants. Among all his endeavors, it was the flooring business that held a special place in his heart. Working alongside his father, Lewis, and brother, Randy, Mike not only honed his craft but also created lasting memories filled with laughter and camaraderie.
Mike's quick wit and boundless storytelling made him unforgettable to those around him. He had an uncanny ability to bring humor into any situation and was never shy about playfully heckling friends and family alike. His stories-often hilarious and always animated-will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of hearing them.
For a time, Mike embraced the thrill of the rodeo world with characteristic enthusiasm. He also had a deep affection for classic cars, especially his prized 1965 Mustang. Whether cruising down the road or showing it off with pride, that car was one of his great joys.
Mike is lovingly remembered by his three children: Chaz Benson and his wife Sami, Kylee Benson, and Miya Young. He also leaves behind four cherished grandchildren-Payten, Sullivan, Swayzee, and Mikah-who brought immense joy to his life. His memory lives on through his siblings Ronda, Tammy, Randy, and Michelle.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lewis and Georgia Benson.
A celebration of Mike's life will be held on November 22 at Grandpa's Pond in Hurricane, Utah (350 N 3700 W), from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM. Family and friends are invited to gather and share their memories in honor of a man whose humor and heart left an indelible mark on all who knew him.
