John "Johnny" Champeau, 81, of Denmark, passed away on October 16, 2025.

He was born on July 17, 1944 to Edward and Josephine (Kujava) Champeau in Green Bay, WI. On June 18, 1966 he married the love of his life, Gloria Larsen. They raised their two children together in Denmark. He worked as a Union Cement Finisher for various contractors in the local area and was the past President of the Bricklayers Local 3. He excelled in that career for 55 years before his retirement in 2002. Upon retirement he remained as an active participant with the union, attended monthly union meetings, and was the Master of Ceremonies for annual Mason and Bricklayer Banquets.

Johnny was a good man. He was the kind of person who taught us the value of hard work, family fun and time outdoors. Whether he was pouring concrete, sitting in a deer stand, or casting a line, he did everything with quiet pride and dedication. His work left its mark on the world, and his heart left its mark on all of us.

He will be deeply loved and forever missed, especially for his stories he told. He always had something to say. You know what I mean, eh?

John is survived by his loving wife, Gloria Champeau; his daughter, Luann (Roger Raduenz) Champeau; his son, David (Gretchen Schmidt) Champeau; brothers and sisters: Barb Boucher, Don Champeau, Steve (Judy) Champeau, Cindy Champeau, Mark (Becky Woods) Champeau, Edward (Nora) Champeau; and sisters-in-law, Ann Larsen and Margert Champeau. He is further survived by dozens of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Josephine Champeau; in-laws, Vernon and Lois Larsen; his siblings: Charles (Audrey) Champeau, Martha (Ronald Stank) Kienzel, Norman "Norm" Champeau and Patrick Champeau; niece, Stacey Loberger; brothers-in-law: Bruce Larsen, Wayne Larsen and Ken Gilinski; and sister-in-law, Janet Champeau.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, October 21, 2025 at 11 AM at St. Peter and Paul Catholic Parish, 710 N. Baird St. Green Bay WI 54302. A Visitation time for friends and family will begin at 9 AM at the church up until the time of Mass.

Lord, thank you for John, the brother we grew up with, the husband who provided, the father who guided, and the friend who walked through life with us.

2 Timothy 4:7

I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.
