Clarence "Chuck" Champeau, 79, Green Bay, passed away Tuesday, June 10, 2025. He was born February 9, 1946, to the late Willard and Arlene Champeau. He worked 50 years at Aspiro in General Assembly. Chuck loved to play piano and was affectionately referred to as the "Piano Man" and he loved to play for occasions of all kinds. His ministry was playing for the Able Church, Nursing homes, and special occasions. He also in his early years played for Interfaith Fellowship for his special Pastor friend, Jim Erickson. He would play before the service began and his audience loved it. Chuck's most notable times of playing his piano was when he played along side of famous composer and singer Michael Card, when he did a short concert for the parishioners of Able Church. Michael commented afterwards that he heard Chuck's piano in the background as he played but was unaware of who or where the music was coming from. He took a picture of Chuck that night and featured him on his Facebook post the next day. Chuck also had played for the patrons at Shakey's Pizza.
He is survived by his loving guardian, Amy Kluth; nieces and nephews; and his many special friends.
He was preceded in death by his one brother and six sisters.
Family and friends may visit Able Church, 1840 W. Mason St., on Friday, June 27, 2025, from 5:30 p.m. until the hour of Memorial service at 6:30 p.m., with Pastor Tim Mandich officiating. Chuck will be laid to rest at the Shrine of the Good Shepherd Mausoleum.
A special thank you to Oaks Family Care Centers, Cari, Oakland and Christiana House, Aspiro, and the staff at Bayshore Village Nursing Home for all the wonderful care and compassion shown to Chuck.
