Patricia A Counard, 82, left this life on July 19, 2025, at Rennes Health & Rehab Center East in Peshtigo, WI with her friend Julie by her side. Pat was born on May 18, 1943, to the late Clarence and Lena Counard in Green Bay, WI. In 1972, Pat married the love of her life, Wayne Fritts, who passed away only 2 short years later.
Pat made a life for herself by caring for others. She was a CNA for over 40 years. She worked at various nursing homes and did in-home care. She loved people and had a heart for the elderly.
Once Pat retired in Crivitz, she had a beautiful mobile home for many years. She was proud of her home and took very good care of things. She enjoyed her time feeding the deer and bunny families that lived in her woods. She had a strawberry patch and loved gardening for as long as she could.
Never having children of her own, she loved her dog Lily like a child. Lily was there for her and even went with Pat when her health declined and needed to move into assisted living.
Pat is survived by her sister Jean (Gary) Hock, a brother Donald (Mary) Counard, and her best friends Julie and Aaron Patefield. Many nieces/nephews, cousins, great nieces/nephews, and great-great nieces/nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, both parents, and her brother Gerald Counard.
We would like to thank Unity Hospice for keeping Pat comfortable and all those who cared for her at Rennes East.
Pat will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Funeral service will be at Rennes East Nursing Home, 701 Willow St, Peshtigo WI on Monday, July 28, 2025 at 1:00 pm. She will be laid to rest at the Allouez Cemetery at a later date.
