Jerry Edwin Hardtke, 83, Green Bay, passed away November 24, 2025. He was born May 1, 1942, in Green Bay, son of the late Edwin and Viola (Lust) Hardtke. He graduated from Green Bay West High School, and was a Master carpenter all his life with Hardtke Supply and Remodeling. He was married to Geanie (Don) Hargis.
Jerry enjoyed car racing with Hardtke Motor Sports, was a tremendous fireworks enthusiast--too many shenanigans with fireworks to count. He also enjoyed going to his cabin up north (Twin Bridges/Pop's Resort) and was a voracious reader all his life, and was a member of MENSA. Later in life he liked going to the casino. Jerry loved spending time with family and friends, especially his brother, Dennis. He always had a big smile, and every time you'd see him he'd say, "Gotta be good"!.
Survivors include his son, Brian Hardtke (Sharon B.); 4 grandchildren: Kari, Anna Jean, Elizabeth Marie, and Shaun; two sisters, Shirley Zelten and Betty (Bob) Diedrich; one sister-in-law, Nancy Hardtke; daughter-in-law, Sue Hardtke; nieces and nephews: Carl (Katherine) Hardtke, Amie Fruzen, Mark (Francine) Zelten, Burt (Kim) Zelten, Terri (Tom) Lischka, Tammy (Michael) Zelten, Jeff (Sheryl) Ihde, and Kris Ihde.
In addition to his parents, Jerry was preceded in death by his two sons, Dan and Randy Hardtke; his brother, Dennis Hardtke; and brother-in-law, Jerome Zelten.
Family and friends may visit Malcore (West) Funeral Home, 1530 W. Mason St., on Saturday, November 29, from 11:30 a.m. until the time of service at 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Paul's Pantry.
Special thanks to the staff at BayShore Village and Aurora BayCare Medical Center for all the kindness and compassion shown to Jerry and his family.
