John Solomon Johnson, of Cobbtown, passed away early Wednesday, January 21, 2026, at his residence surrounded by his family.
Mr. Johnson was born in Savannah, Georgia and was a son of Homer Johnson and Nettie Salter Johnson. He was retired from the IBEW (International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers). Mr. Johnson enjoyed hunting and fishing as well as Woodworking and he loved to Run.
In addition to his parents, John is predeceased by his Brother and Sister-in-Law Bobby and Julia Alderman.
Surviving are his wife of 65 years, Alberta Renee Johnson of Cobbtown, his daughter, Michelle Pittman; sisters, Kathleen “Kitty” Strickland (Leon) and Elaine Strange (Larry); Grandchildren, Jessica Jaramillo (Andre) and Macy Quigley; as well as several great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
A celebration of life in honor of Mr. Johnson will be held at a later date and will be announced by the family and the funeral home.
Kennedy Funeral Homes, Cobbtown Chapel, is in charge of the arrangements.
