John Kasman Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Florence Mortuary on Sep. 19, 2024.
John Kasman, 92, went home to the Lord on September 13, 2024, surrounded by his family and a close friend.
A native Coloradoan, John grew up and lived in the Denver metro area for many years before moving to Florence, CO to retire in 2001. John was in the Army and served in the Korean War from 1951 – 1952 followed by an honorable discharge.
John had several careers in his Denver days including his own automotive upholstery shop and he was a skilled bricklayer and mason. He loved hiking, biking, camping, traveling, fishing, fall leaf peeping, and spending quality time with family and friends.
John loved Florence, CO, and was a popular figure around town. It seems like everyone knew John or knew of him. John never met a stranger. Until very recently, you could find John tooling around on his electric recumbent bicycle, at a local restaurant or a coffee house. He was a bicycle enthusiast who loved to convert traditional bicycles into e-bikes. John loved riding the annual Tour de Coal Towns with his family and friends – no matter the weather.
John was a man of many talents and skills. He knew how to fix just about anything and he'd always lend a hand to anyone. He was quick-witted, and always had great stories to share or something kind to say about another person. He always spoke positively about people and never passed judgment or spread rumors. He was a true role model and will be happily remembered and greatly missed.
John is survived by his children, Wade Kasman (wife, Mary), Tammy Kasman Proctor (husband, Scott), Jeff Kasman (wife, Robin), 9 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
Come have one more cup of coffee for John on October 14, 2024, at the Florence Senior Center from 10:00-12:00.
