Obituary of John Martin Kearns
John Martin Kearns, 58 of Micco, Florida died unexpectedly on May 13, 2024 at Advent Hospital in Orlando.
He was born in Hartford, CT on October 20, 1965. He grew up in Granby, CT, and was a graduate of Granby Memorial High School.
John's interests were being on the water, traveling, cruising, Disney and going on adventures. He cherished hanging out with friends, family and his furbabies. He was always cracking a joke and willing to lend a listening ear. He touched so many people's lives far and near.
He was truly a remarkable person. As a young man, he began his career path in Emergency Medical Services. He entered the field of law enforcement and dispatching. He was most recently a security supervisor at a job he loved with his good friend Ryan English.
He leaves behind his beloved wife Justine Decker Kearns, his son Bruce John Kearns, stepson Matthew Russo and his wife Gracie, his sister Heather Talbot and husband Matt, nephews Justin Kearns, Thomas and Daniel Talbot, Marcus Decker and nieces Laura Talbot and Emma Decker. His inlaws Sandra and Robert Decker and brother in law Sean and wife Uli Decker. His lifelong friends Doug and Rena Tetlow and many more friends and acquaintances he met throughout his life.
To know John was a pleasure and although our hearts are broken we know he is reunited with his mother Jean Martin Kearns and Father Bruce Edward Kearns, and his Grandparents Gran & Pa in Heaven.
At the request of the family, services are private.
John was an avid lover of animals.
