John Harrison Kent III, 55 of Blountstown, passed away on October 22, 2025, just two days shy of his 56th birthday. He was a beloved father, brother, uncle, and friend. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
John was preceded in death by his paternal and maternal grandparents, his mother Barbara Dekle Kent, and his father John Harrison “Buddy” Kent Jr.
He is survived by his loving daughters, Kymberly Alford (Kyle), Saige Paquette (Cody); his sister, Tara Jackson (Jay); and his cherished niece and nephew, Ashley and Patrick. He also leaves behind several aunts, uncles, cousins, and countless friends who will remember his warmth, humor, and generous spirit.
John proudly served in the U.S. Navy and often spoke of how much he loved his time in service. His experiences in the Navy shaped his strong sense of duty, camaraderie, and respect for others — values he carried throughout his life.
John had a deep love for the outdoors. Whether he was fishing, hunting, or simply enjoying nature, he found peace and joy outside. Above all, he treasured the time he spent with his family and friends, creating memories that will live on in their hearts forever. His life was a testament to kindness, laughter, and love — and though he is gone too soon, his memory will continue to shine brightly in the lives of those he touched.
A celebration of life will be held and announced once details are available.
