John Wesley Kidd

John Wesley Kidd, son of the late Louis and Nellie Kidd was born January 29, 1949 and died December 9, 2025 after a brief illness following surgery.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm, Saturday, December 13, 2025 at Bensalem Presbyterian Church, 2891 Bensalem Church Rd, Eagle Springs, NC 27242, with Rev. John Stone officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:30 pm until 1:45 pm prior to the service. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

In addition to his parents, Johnny was predeceased by wife, Cathy Frye Kidd and brothers Jerry Kidd and Louis Kidd Jr.

Johnny is survived by loving wife, Carolyn Kelly Kidd, son John Bradley Kidd (Holly), step son Chuck Bailey (Jennifer), step daughter Amber Brady (Shad), grandchildren Colton Brady, Madelyn Bailey, Grace Bailey, Easton Kidd and Brynn Kidd, brother Jimmy Kidd (Alicia), brother in law Olen (Gina), sisters in law Brenda Halsey (Roger) and Francie Yokeley, and several nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, many friends, and his four footed best friend Sadie.
After graduating from Chatham Central High School and then Sandhills Community College, Johnny worked in the textile industry for many years after which he entered the trucking industry but through it all, Johnny was a lifetime farmer, initially raising poultry, pork and crop farming, switching to hay and beef cattle for many years, active until his death.
Johnny loved hunting, fishing, horseback riding and camping but his main enjoyment was hanging out with his family and friends, especially his grandchildren. Johnny was always kidding around and was known for the pranks he would play. Johnny loved for people to laugh. And if ever there was a job to do that even remotely involved a tractor, Johnny would jump on and "get er done".
