Joseph C. Kidd

Joseph C. Kidd III, 81, passed away on Sunday, March 29, 2026 at Bethesda Care Center. He was born on December 27, 1944 in Clarksdale, MS to Joseph Kidd Jr and Ardeen (Hoskins) Cosey. JC was a 1964 graduate of Fremont Ross High School, where he was on the track team.

JC married Irene M. Peoples on December 26, 1992 in Fostoria, OH and she preceded him in death on September 27, 2020. He worked at Union Carbine/Eveready Battery for twenty-eight years, retiring in July of 1997. A man of deep faith, JC was devoted to the Lord and was an active member of Greater St. James Church of God in Christ. He served his church family in several roles, including as a member of the Deacon Board, the Usher Board, and the choir. JC enjoyed fishing and going to various car shows.

JC is survived by his children, Christopher Kidd, Ivy Banks, Melissa Kidd, Stanley Newell, Terry Newell, Darron Newell, Micheal Newell; brother, Ernest Kidd, all of Fremont, OH; mother of his children, Linda Kidd and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Irene Kidd; sister, Luella (TJ) Heidelburg; brother, Len (Catherine) Baker and brother-in-law, Roy Peters.

Visitation will be held on Monday, April 6, 2026 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at Greater St. James Church, 629 6th St, Fremont, OH 43420.

Services will immediately follow visitation at the church beginning at 1:00 pm with Pastor Todd Chance officiating.
