John P. Kladis, 63, of Poughkeepsie, passed away on Easter Sunday, April 20, 2025, at Mid- Hudson Regional Hospital in Poughkeepsie.
Born Friday, July 21, 1961, in Mount Vernon, he was the son of the late John and Dorothy (Brinkach) Kladis.
John was a man with a wealth of knowledge, alongside much 'useless,' and humorous information. He had an amazing sense of humor and loved making memes and sending them to his family to make them laugh. John enjoyed being sociable, he loved talking and learning about people, and these qualities made him a really well-liked person by not only his family but his friends and those who were around him.
John loved history, and he loved to learn. He had his interest in cars and air planes. The Rhinebeck Aerodrome was one of his favorite places, but above all else, he loved his morning trips to McDonald's for breakfast.
John worked at Vassar College as an IT Technician for years.
John is survived by his adopted son, Adrian Cress Kladis, his sister, Karen McKinley, brother; Stephen Kladis, his nephew's, Robert (Amber) Gugliuzza, Daniel (Jennifer) Gugliuzza, his nieces, Katelyn McKinley, and Jimmi Leigh Kladis; his grandnephew John Vincent whom he adored, and his Aunt Arleen Thomson, along with several other close friends and relatives.
Cremation has taken place. The family will have an "after party" to celebrate his life and legacy at a later date.
Arrangements are under the direction of Sweet's Funeral Home, Inc., Rte. 9, Hyde Park.
