John Ellis Klepfer, 63, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, June 6, 2023. He was predeceased by his son and best friend Michael Kingsley Klepfer; parents Michael & Kathleen Klepfer; his aunt Patricia Kiltz; Grandparents Ellis & Gladys Klepfer, J. Elmer & Helen Crowley, and Ed & Trudy Phoenix.
He is survived by his daughter Patricia Louise Klepfer, wife Toni Robinson Klepfer; sister Patricia Ann Klepfer; brother Robert Andrew Klepfer; father-in-law & mothers-in-law Kingsley & Cindy Robinson, & Louzetta Page, brothers-in-law & sisters-in-law Jim Robinson, Penni Bradley, Robin Fidurski, Aaron Robinson & David Robinson; nieces & nephews Katy, Stephen, Joshua, Owen, Jackie & Kristina; his best friend Pete Brevett and many other special friends.
John was a 1978 Chenango Valley graduate and a 1983 Ithaca College graduate where he was a dedicated participant in the Newman Group. He was a 4th degree member of the Knights of Columbus for 30 years and held the title of Grand Knight. John was a lifelong member of St. Francis of Assisi Church. He was very involved teaching in the Catechism & Faith Formation as well as active in the Catholic Mass as a Eucharistic Minister and a Lector. John was a Boy Scout Leader and was a CYO basketball coach, he also coached football, weight lifting, and track & field for Seton Catholic Central High School.
John enjoyed his work at the Wyoming Conference Children's Home where he had a great impact on many teenagers. His greatest legacy was his tireless work helping children. He loved to create and play intricate games such as corporate pursuit and liberty or death. He loved reading history books and collecting comic books. John valued all his time spent with family and friends. He enjoyed playing golf, hiking the waterfalls in Ithaca and scuba diving in college. He used his impeccable memory and intellect to share wisdom, knowledge, and insight to all he cared for and loved.
The Family will receive friends on Tuesday, June 20, 2023 from 9-10am with a Memorial Mass to follow at St. Francis of Assisi Church, 1049 Chenango Street, Binghamton. Burial will be held in Calvary Cemetery at the convenience of the family.

How shocked I am as I s it in dialysis at Strong hospital I Rochester. John was a presence that many knew was in the area. He had energy that seemed to be endless-always there,!always helpful.
I am sure he organizing things bin heaven especially the Knights!
