John William Kokernot Jr, 79, passed away at his home in Valley Spring, Texas, on August 11, 2025. Born in Austin, Texas, on February 13, 1946, Johnny will be remembered for his quick wit, infectious sense of humor, and the laughter he brought to everyone around him. He had an extraordinary ability to tell stories that made people smile, and his lighthearted nature and generosity touched countless lives.

Johnny was a loyal friend and a man who loved deeply. He shared his love with an open heart, not only to those close to him but also to his beloved dog, Ida Red, who was a constant companion. His friends knew him as someone who could always be counted on for a good laugh and unwavering support, no matter the circumstances.

Throughout his life, Johnny never hesitated to make those around him feel welcome, valued, and appreciated. His humor and kindness were a gift to all who knew him, and his legacy will live on through the countless memories he created with friends, family, and all those fortunate enough to cross his path.

He is survived by his cherished family, friends, and the many people whose lives he made brighter.

In honor of Johnny's memory, the family asks that you share a laugh, tell a story, or enjoy a moment of joy in his honor.

A celebration of Johnny's life will be held on Saturday, Oct 18 at 4:00 pm, with details to follow.
