Margaret Jane (Michalek) Kokernot, age 77, of Kyle, Texas, passed away on January 30, 2026.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Mary Michalek of Granger, Texas, and by her twin sister, Mary Ann Blakely.
Margie was employed as a secretary with Travis County Adult Probation for ten years before continuing her education and earning a Master’s degree in Education at Texas State University. She went on to teach for twenty years with Austin Independent School District at Palm Elementary, where she touched the lives of countless students and colleagues.
She is survived by her younger sister, Barbara Michalek; her daughter, Amy (Kokernot) Dolce, and husband Jeffrey Dolce, and their children, Madolyn Claire Dolce and Koke Levi Dolce; and her son, John Joseph Kokernot, and wife Margaret Ann Kokernot, and their children, Marqael Perez, Jake Kokernot, Joseph Kokernot, and McKenzie Kokernot. She also leaves behind many extended family members who will cherish her memory.
A rosary will be held at 10:30 AM at S.S. Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church February 27, 2026 with a mass to follow. After Services have been completed, a burial will follow at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery.
