John Thomas Kovaleski, 61, of Dayton, passed away on Friday, February 14, 2025, at Cedarview Nursing and Rehabilitation Care in Lebanon. John was born on January 13, 1964, in Nelsonville, Ohio, the son of John “Ken”, the late Margaret “Mags” (McCulloch), and Carol Kovaleski.
John loved fishing, hunting, and playing cards. He enjoyed spending time with family and eating good food, especially Aunt Rita’s home cooking.
John is survived by parents, Ken and Carol; son, John (Brittany) Kovaleski; grandchildren, Breaunna and Bristol; brothers, Kenny Kovaleski and Bill (Holly) Kovaleski; aunt, Rita (Bob) Harris; cousin, Vicki (Brian) Lewis; several nieces, nephews, and cousins; and best friend, Brent Ramsey.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Mags; grandparents, John and Virgie Kovaleski, Bill and Dorothy Breeze, and Thomas and Helen McCulloch; and uncles, Max and Jim Kovaleski.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 pm on Friday, February 21, 2025 at the Souers-Cardaras Funeral Home, 46 Fayette St, Nelsonville, with John Johnston officiating. Interment will be in Greenlawn Cemetery, Nelsonville. Family and friends may visit from 10 am to 12 pm Friday at the funeral home.
