John A LaBrie

John Arthur LaBrie was born on Aug 12, 1936 in Aberdeen, SD and died on September 18, 2023 at his home in Oklahoma City, OK. He graduated from South Dakota State University with a degree in Electrical Engineering. He met the love of his life, Mary Ann LaBrie, near her family home in Ft Walton Beach, FL and they were married in 1963. John, Ann, and their three sons moved to Midwest City in 1971, the last of many stops in John's career with Boeing Aerospace. Devoted to his family, he was very active in Midwest City in support of his sons' activities, including school, wrestling, church, and many other endeavors. John enjoyed spending time with his family in Ft Walton Beach, FL and many other locations, fishing, water skiing, sight-seeing, and attending sporting events. He also enjoyed playing bridge with Ann and many dear friends who regularly gathered. John was an incredibly loving and caring husband, father, and grandfather. He is survived by his son Bruce and his wife Debbie; son Mike and his wife Kim; son Tom; grandchildren Taylor, Parker, Jonathan, Chloe, Chase, and Chandler, all of the Oklahoma City metro area; sister Marilyn of Chicago, IL; brother-in-law Bob Troske of Clarke, SD; sister-in-law Sue Holland of Los Angeles, CA; sister-in-law Clair Muller and her husband Thos of Atlanta, GA, many nieces, nephews, and amazing friends. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Ann, parents Victor and Castle LaBrie, his sister Marvel Troske, brother-in-law Al Melkerson, and his niece Stephanie Melkerson. There will be visitation at Ford Funeral Home, 305 S. Sooner Rd, Midwest City, OK from 2pm to 4pm on Sunday September 24, 2023, and a memorial service at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, 3901 S. Sunnylane Road, Del City, OK at 10:00am on Monday September 25, 2023. In lieu of flowers, please feel free to donate to the charity of your choice.
