John Laguna Obituary
John N. Laguna, 74, of Bethlehem, passed away on April 14, 2024, at St. Luke's Hospital, Anderson Campus. Born on April 30, 1949, in the Bronx, NY, to his late parents Juan Laguna and Concepcion (Collazo) Quinto, John was a beacon of wisdom and kindness in the lives of all who knew him.
John's journey through life was marked by a steadfast commitment to education and service. A proud graduate of Cardinal Spellman High School, he went on to earn a bachelor's degree from Iona University. His thirst for knowledge and desire to help others led him to attain a master's degree and a PhD in Clinical Psychology from the City University of New York (CUNY). His academic achievements laid a strong foundation for his future contributions to the field of psychology.
Before embarking on his professional career, John honorably served in the United States Air Force from 1967 to 1971, a period of his life that instilled in him a deep sense of duty and patriotism. After his military service, he dedicated his life to the mental well-being of others, working as a psychologist at Easton Neuropsychology and Behavioral Services, LLC. There, he touched the lives of countless individuals with his compassionate approach and insightful guidance.
John's personal life was filled with love and joy. He was the beloved husband of Martha A. (David) Laguna for 55 wonderful years. Together, they built a life full of laughter and cherished moments. He was a guiding light to his son, Jonathan Laguna, and took immense pride in his role as a grandfather to Tamara and Kassandra, imparting wisdom and creating memories that will forever be treasured.
An avid sports fan, John's passion for the New York Giants and Mets was well-known among his friends and family. He could often be found cheering on his favorite teams, sharing his enthusiasm and love for the game with all around him.
Beyond the thrill of sports, John had a unique fascination with Godzilla, which brought a sense of fun and excitement to his life. His love for the iconic monster was a quirky and endearing part of who he was, and it brought smiles to the faces of those who knew him best.
John's legacy is one of love, service, and commitment. His unwavering support and dedication to his family, his profound impact on his patients, and his service to his country are hallmarks of a life well-lived. His absence will be deeply felt, but the memories he created will continue to provide comfort and inspiration to those he leaves behind.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11 A.M. on Monday, April 22, 2024, at the Cantelmi Long Funeral Home, 500 Linden Street Bethlehem, PA 18018 where the family will receive relatives and friends from 10 A.M. until time of the service. Burial will take place at Green Meadows Cemetery, Fountain Hill. A memory tribute may be placed at www.cantelmifuneralhome.com.

I worked for John at Northside Behavioral Health Center in the early 2000s. He loved his wife, son and granddaughters of whom he often spoke. John was kind and generous to me, and I am saddened by his passing. May his memory be eternal.
