Michael Evans Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Cantelmi Long Funeral Home - Bethlehem on Jan. 5, 2026.
Michael James Evans, aged 64, passed away peacefully on January 3, 2026, at Cedarbrook Senior Care and Rehabilitation in Fountain Hill, PA. Born on October 28, 1961, in Bethlehem, PA, Michael was a man of great spirit and vitality, whose presence was a source of joy and comfort to all who knew him.
After a fulfilling life marked by loyalty, passion, and a deep love for his family, Michael leaves behind a legacy of warmth and kindness. He is survived by his adoring sisters, Jane Felker and her husband Stephen of Wind Gap, PA; Jean Madzik and her husband James of Deltona, FL; Robin Dottor and her husband Gregory of Alburtis, PA; and his sister-in-law Candi Evans of NC. His life was enriched by the presence of many loving nieces and nephews who will miss him dearly. Michael was predeceased by his parents, Robert A. Evans and Anna (Nagy) Evans, his sister Joan Kattke, and his brother Gary Paul Evans, with whom he shared many cherished memories.
A proud graduate of Liberty High School, Michael carried the values of his education throughout his life. His dedication to service was evident in his commitment to the United States Army, where he not only served his country with honor but also gained skills that would shape his future. Michael was a former member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church, where he found fellowship and community.
Michael's work ethic was unparalleled, and he used his military-acquired knowledge to build a beautiful home for his father, a testament to his skill in construction and building. His professional life was marked not just by his abilities but also by the relationships he built along the way.
An avid sports fan, Michael's enthusiasm for NASCAR, particularly his admiration for Dale Earnhardt Sr. and Jr., could be felt whenever he cheered them on. He was also a devoted fan of the Philadelphia Eagles and the Phillies, his loyalty never wavering through the seasons. Cooking was another of Michael's passions, and he was known for his love of beer, Pott's Hot Dogs, and especially his hot wings, which were a favorite at family gatherings. His latest love while residing at Cedarbrook Senior Care and Rehabilitation was playing bingo.
Michael's favorite place to vacation was Promised Land in the Poconos, a spot where he spent many happy times camping with his family. A joy to go hunting and fishing with his late brother Gary. These moments in nature brought him immense joy and peace.
