I served with "Lambert" aboard USS Theodore Roosevelt when the ship was still under construction and then when newly commissioned. Lambert was a cool cat and absolutely hilarious. I can still hear his high, gravely voice in the shower area saying, "Hey, come on, Hollywood, let's go! Other people have to shower, too!". :-)

He also gave his LPO, Larry Leatherman a constant hard time which I also found hilarious.

Fair winds and following seas in the great Navy in the Sky, Lambert. I am proud to have served with you.

I along with the rest in this photo went through the Navy's Senior Enlisted Academy in 2006 with Ed as the Leader of Green Team and I am certain like myself they are deeply saddened to hear of Ed's passing. The last time our paths crossed was in 2010 in the Middle East on my way to Afghanistan and as always he was engaging and inspiring. Serving with him in the Navy was not only a privilege but a profound experience. He was a kind, happy and funny person who always left those around him smiling and feeling cared for! What a guy and what a Leader! My thoughts and prayers are with his family and loved ones during this difficult time. Rest in peace, my brother-in-arms. - with Ed Lambert.

Eddie and I were close friends throughout High School. I admired his dedication and drive to join the Navy which in fact contributed to my early enlistment in the Air Force. I admired his success while serving this great country for the majority of his adult life. I will never forget my third baseman and the good times we shared. God bless you and your family! Thank you for your service. You will be missed my friend!
