John Edgar Lamberth, born on November 28, 1942, in Tallassee, Alabama, passed away peacefully on March 13, 2026. A devoted family man and respected businessman, Edgar’s life was marked by his unwavering dedication to his community and loved ones.
Edgar was a college graduate, earning his Bachelor of Science degree in electronics, a foundation that led him to successfully own and operate Hornsby Electronics, as well as Tall Tales Bait and Tackle. His entrepreneurial spirit and commitment to quality made his businesses a staple in the Tallassee area.
He was a man of diverse interests and passions. Edgar loved trapping, fishing, and farming, activities that connected him deeply to the outdoors and his roots in Alabama. He also found great enjoyment in the excitement of casino life, embracing each moment with enthusiasm.
Edgar is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Robin Lamberth; his parents, Edgar Earl and Carleene Moore Lamberth; his daughter, Penny Segrest; his brother, Floyd Lamberth; and his grandson, Keith Segrest. Their memories remain a cherished part of his story.
He is survived by a loving family who meant the world to him: his daughter Jana Higgs and her husband Andrew; his son John Lamberth and his wife Carla; grandchildren Robert Segrest and his wife Samantha, John Paul Segrest, Ryan Higgs and his wife Adriana, Josh Higgs, Avery Higgs, Ella Higgs, Robin Bush and her husband Shane, Ethan Lamberth, and William Lamberth; as well as great-grandchildren Mary Segrest, Genevieve Higgs, and Journey Segrest. Each of them carries forward Edgar’s legacy of kindness, strength, and integrity.
A graveside service to honor and celebrate Edgar’s life will be held at Rose Hill Cemetery in Tallassee, Alabama, Tuesday, March 17, 2026, at 11:00AM.
John Edgar Lamberth’s life was a testament to hard work, love for family, and a genuine appreciation for the simple pleasures of life. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him and fondly remembered for generations to come.
