John Henry Laster, age 80, of Rogersville, passed away on Friday, December 12, 2025 at home surround by his wife, sons, and grandkids.
John was born to Robert Lee and Mattie Lou Laster on December 18, 1944. He married Judy Laster on October 3, 1968 in Rogersville, TN. He worked as an Auto Technician for 22 years.
He was preceded in death by his son, Henry Lynn Laster; parents, Robert Lee and Mattie Lou Laster; brothers. R.L Laster and Luician Laster; sisters, Mary Burchfield, Jean Burchfield, and Margaret Mayes.
He is survived by his wife, Judy Laster; children, John Douglas Laster (Michelle Brown), Scottie Ray Laster (Tina), Keeley Laster; grandchildren, Christopher Laster, Phillip Laster, Marcus Laster (Nicole Paragon), Bridgett Williams (Kip), Celestial Laster, Cierra Laster, Ricky Reed, Timmy Reed; 19 great-grandchildren; special granddaughter and grandson, Kaliyah Shanks and Jaxtyn Johnson, 3 sisters; Joan Cope, Ann Davenport (GW), and Elizabeth Laster, brother; David Laster (Darlene), special nephews; Larry Laster, James Burchfield and Johnny Laster.
The family of John wishes to extend their sincere thanks to Nicole Campbell and Dr. Justin Garrison for all the care they have shown.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm Sunday, December 14, 2025 at Christian-Sells Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 7:00 pm with Rev. Tim Johnson officiating. Graveside service will be held Monday, December 15, 2025 at 2:00 pm in Highland Cemetery.Anyone who wishes to follow in the funeral procession is asked to meet at Christian-Sells at 1:15 pm Monday.
Pallbearers will be Marcus Laster, Phillip Laster, Chris Laster, Jerry Burkhart, James Burchfield, Larry Laster, Jacob Laster, Scott Laster, and Richard Laster.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude's Hospital.
