John Ralph Ledesma, Sr., 62, was born October 24, 1961, to his mother, Rita Ledesma and brother Richard Ledesma, both whom proceeded him in death. He was affectionately known as Boo boo. In 2000, John Sr. graduated with his son, John Jr., from Kansas City, Kansas Area Technical School where they studied Heating and Cooling. John supported his family by working as a senior maintenance engineer, for 24 years, at the Kansas City Kansas Housing Authority. He was a self-taught mechanic, carpenter, plumber, and financial advisor. You could say he was a Jack of all trades.
Growing up, he didn't have much, but he always made sure his family had everything. He loved being around his kids and grandchildren. You could always find him watching the Chiefs play football or his beloved KU Jayhawks play basketball. His favorite Christmas traditions were making peanut clusters and hosting Christmas Day breakfast for his family. He was always quick with advice, whether you wanted to hear it or not.
John is survived by his beloved partner Denise Miller, children John Ledesma, Jr., Dominik Ledesma, Renee Ojeda (Johnny), and Bianca Ledesma; grandchildren Anthony Ledesma, Joseph Ledesma, Dominic Ledesma, Leilanni Ledesma, and granddaughter coming in 2025, his sister Elizabeth Ayalla and uncle John Ledesma.
