Leshelle Clemons, age 54, was born on February 2, 1971, to Alice Woods and Albert Lee Shelby, and transitioned peacefully on June 27, 2025. She was a beloved daughter, sister, and friend who touched the lives of all who knew her. Leshelle graduated from Washington High School in Kansas City, Kansas, in May 1990, and attended a few classes at KCK Community College.
Leshelle was a lifelong athlete and sports enthusiast. She was also a proud and active participant in Special Olympics; and a member of the KCK Kings team. She competed in a variety of sports, including basketball, softball, bowling, track & field, and fishing tournaments. Her enthusiasm and love for competition inspired everyone around her. Leshelle had a true love for Kansas City sports-especially the Chiefs and the Royals.
Leshelle accepted Christ as her Savior at an early age, joining Trinity AME (KCK), and was currently a member of Forest Grove Baptist Church (KCK).
Leshelle is survived by her loving mother, Alice Woods; her cherished sister, Loretha Coats; her uncle and aunt, Elliott and Beverly Clemons; several cousins; dedicated caregivers; and her many dear friends throughout the Kansas City community. Leshelle's warmth, laughter, and generous spirit will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege to know her.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, July 10th, 2025, at 11:00am at Forest Grove Baptist Church, 1417 N. 9th St. Kansas City, KS, 66101.
