John Lehner

John Charles Lehner, age 78, of Columbia, Tennessee, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Saturday, August 23, 2025, with his beloved wife Mary by his side.

John was born on June 2, 1947, to Margarete and Alfred Lehner and was the eldest of eight children. He is survived by his wife Mary, daughter Rebekah Newell (T.J.), stepdaughter Theresa Spencer, four grandchildren, and siblings Chris, Tom, Paul, Robert, Peter, and Michelle. He is preceded in death by his brother Patrick.

John’s passion for health and fitness began early and continued throughout his life. In his early 30s, he came to faith in Jesus Christ, and his love for God and His Word became the foundation of his life.

In 2000, while working together at Logic Nutrition, John and Mary’s friendship grew quickly into love, and they married on February 17, 2001, beginning their life together in Huntington Beach, California before moving to Spokane, Washington in 2004.

John loved the outdoors, especially his years in Hawaii where he sailed, surfed, and joined an outrigger canoe club. He cherished time with his family, mentoring others, and faithfully praying for those he loved.

Even as he faced Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s, John’s faith remained steadfast. He lived by his favorite reminder to friends and family: “Keep looking up.”
