John Hugh Liming

John Hugh Liming, age 88 of Helena, Alabama passed away peacefully on May 6, 2024.
A visitation will be held on Monday, May 13, 2024 at Bolton Funeral Home at 10:00 AM. A funeral service will follow at 11:00 AM. Bro. Paul Todd will be officiating. He will be laid to rest at the Alabama National Cemetery.
Hugh was born on January 13, 1936 to John Ruskin Liming and Lillian Scott Liming in the Hamilton Community near Ashland, MS.
At a young age he loved motorcycles, fast cars, and drag racing which later turned into a love of watching Nascar.
Following high school, Hugh enlisted in the Tennessee Army National Guard where he served as a military policeman.
Hugh worked at and attended Northland Bible College in Sault Saint Marie, Ontario, Canada where he enjoyed working to maintain the campus facilities along with taking Bible classes. This experience led to positions at Pensacola Christian College and Briarwood Presbyterian Church.
He had an amazing ability to repair anything from air conditioners to diesel engines. He used this talent to serve many families by volunteering to fix things for them on a regular basis at no charge.
Hugh leaves behind his children: Alan Liming (Mark) of Atlanta, Georgia, Ginger Simpson of Tuscaloosa, Alabama, Kevin Liming (Linda) of Helena, Alabama, and Brandon Liming of Helena, Alabama; grandchildren: Danielle Simpson, Lillie Barnett (Jake), Emily Liming Johns (Davis), Annie Simpson and Adam Liming; great Grandchildren: Landry Kate Barnett & Beau Miles Barnett; the mother of his children: Sue Liming; his beloved sister: Annette Liming Street (Carrol); a host of nieces & nephews; and his beloved dog, Buddy.
Pallbearers will be Adam Liming, Jake Barnett, Jake Parris, Mark Liming, Davis Johns, and Jerry Liming.
