Alice Muck Obituary
Alice was born in Cedar City, Utah on January 19, 1941, to her parents, Charles and Ardeth Ahlstrom. When Alice was a child, she played the accordion and with her brother, Rex, performed at weddings and various functions. After graduating high school in Cedar City, Alice moved to Salt Lake City. There she met Clement Muck on a blind date and after only one date they were engaged. Clem and Alice were married in her parents' living room on December 6, 1964. Following their wedding they lived in Boise, Idaho and in then the San Francisco area. Their life together took them on many adventures, and they lived in Oregon, Ohio, New Jersey, California, and finally settled in Alabama. Alice had a career working in the banking industry and was robbed at gunpoint twice! After retiring, Alice spent years sewing, crocheting, and knitting for her grandchildren. She was very interested in genealogy and helped to digitize the records found at the Shelby County Courthouse. She dearly loved her family and took great delight in joining them for Sunday dinners. She would never turn down a chance to go out for Mexican food or eat a dish of ice cream.
She is survived by her daughter: Monica (Muck) Duvall - married to Douglas Duvall; her stepson: James Erickson; her stepdaughter: Susan Muck; her grandchildren: Paris Duvall, Sophie (Duvall) Henderson - married to Shane Henderson, Mallorie (Duvall) Ruiz - married to Alex Ruiz, Maddie Duvall, Ava Duvall, Cora Duvall, and Alexandra (Erickson) Peterson; and her great-grandchildren: Felicity Henderson and Nicholas Henderson.
She is preceded in death by her parents: Charles and Ardeth Ahlstrom; her brother: Rex Ahlstrom; and her husband: Clement Muck.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 3, 2026, at 9:30 AM at Blessed Sacrament Church, 1460 Pearson Ave SW, Birmingham, AL 35211. A funeral service will follow at 10:00 AM. Father Jim Booth is presiding and Bolton Funeral Home is directing. She will be laid to rest at Columbiana City Cemetery.
