John Luland Obituary
John C. Luland, 63, of Nutley, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, January 18, 2026. Born in Trenton, NJ, September 24, 1962, he spent his early years in Newark, NJ. He moved to Nutley in 1972 and attended Yantacaw Elementary School, Franklin Middle School, and Nutley High School. He was accepted into Perkins School for the Blind in Watertown MA where he spent 5 years. After graduation he moved back to Nutley, living on his own in the town he loved.
He worked at Home Depot in Clifton and was a favorite vocalist and musician at St. Mary's Parish. Music was his passion and throughout the years, he performed all over New Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania.
He was the son of the late John H and Josephine (LaBadia) Luland. John is survived by his wife of 20 years, Anjali (Henry) Luland, his sister, Jan Kraft, his brother-in-law Michael Kraft, his nephews, Jack, Jesse, and Jeremy, his niece Jensen, and his Seeing Eye dog Hermes.
Visitors will be received at the S.W. Brown & Son Funeral Home, (www.swbrownandson.com), 267 Centre St., Nutley, on Tuesday, February 3, 2026, from 10:00AM – 12:00PM. The Funeral Service will immediately follow at 12 noon.
