John T Lysko

John T Lysko, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and longtime resident of the Town of Lagrange peacefully passed away at home on January 30, 2025, at the age of 92.
Born on September 18,1932 in New Windsor, New York John was the beloved son of Paul and Christine Lysko. John married his high school sweetheart June Porter on June 24, 1950, at Saint Mary's Church in Poughkeepsie. John worked for New York State in various capacities retiring in 1989 as a commercial appraiser for the Equalization and Assessment Board, as well as being a licensed real estate broker for many years. He spent almost 60 years in Lagrange building a life centered around family, hard work and values. After retirement John and June enjoyed traveling, especially cruising visiting well over 30 different countries, as well as spending time at their residences in Hawaii and Florida. John will be remembered for his outsized personality, love of family, generosity, and droll sense of humor.
Unfortunately, John was predeceased by his wife, June and two sons John Lysko Jr. and David Lysko. He leaves behind the legacy of love and cherished memories through his surviving family daughter, Deborah Hoch, her children, Sarah Taylor and Josh Hoch, daughter-in-law Traci Lysko, her children, Nicole and Kathryn Lysko, daughter Elizabeth Avello and her children Alexandra and Avery Avello, daughter Laurie Flynn her husband Patrick Flynn and son Jonathan Flynn and daughter Christine King, her husband, James King, their daughter Hannah King, as well as six great grandchildren.
John's life was marked by kindness, dedication, and an unwavering commitment to his family. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Visitation will be held on Friday, February 7, 2025, from 4 PM to 8 PM at Timothy P Doyle, funeral home located at 371 Hooker Ave., Poughkeepsie, NY 12603.
A funeral service will be held at Saint Mary's Church in Poughkeepsie, New York on Saturday, February 8, 2025, at 10 AM followed by Burial at Calvary Cemetery.
