John Joseph MacGregor II, 62, of Perrysburg, Ohio (formerly of Dallas, Texas) passed away on the evening of Friday, February 17th, 2023 in his home.
John was born in Bay City, Michigan on January 1st, 1961 and raised in Saginaw. John graduated from Mayville High School (Michigan) in 1979, Delta College in Bay City, and The University of Minnesota Medical School (Prosthetics Department) in White Bear Lake, Minnesota in 1982.
In 1984 John was certified by the American Board of Certification in Orthotists and Prosthetists. At only 23 years of age, he was the youngest certified member in the history by that Board. John served amputees as a prosthetist in Toledo, Ohio, St. Louis, Missouri, Paris, Texas and Dallas, Texas for over 35 years. 31 of those years were served at Hanger Clinic. John had a passion for treating patients and changed the lives of so many amputees after some of their most traumatic losses in their lives.
Throughout John's entire life, he was active in Freemasonry. He served as the first twice Past Master of R.C. Buckner Lodge in Dallas, and a 32 Degree Knight Commander of the Court of Honor in the Dallas Scottish Rite. In the York Rite, service to our Lord, he was a Past High Priest and Past Thrice Illustrious Master of R. C. Buckner Chapter/Council. He served as a Past Commander of Alexander C. Garrett Commandery Knights Templar, and also a Shriner through Hella Shrine Temple in Garland, Texas.
John loved to share time with his three granddaughters at the pool and watched them dance in many recitals. He was well known for his goofy antics and loved making those around him laugh. John was also a member of Saint Rose Catholic Church in Perrysburg, Ohio.
John is survived by his brothers Tim (Marcy) MacGregor and Greg MacGregor; his son John Joseph (Cori) MacGregor III; and grandchildren Evelyn, Fiona, and Temperance MacGregor. John is preceded in death by his mother Carolle Marie DeLorge MacGregor and his father John Joseph MacGregor.
The family will honor his passing privately.

My wonderful friend. You are so missed. You were the best boss and friend one could ever hope for. I miss those days. We had such a great relationship, like family. You left us to soon. CJ, Dan and Ruben will miss you as well as all the veterans that you helped over the years. R.I.P. John, until we see you again.

John was my original prosthetist when I lost my leg. He got me on the road to walking again. He allowed me to make my own prosthetic after several year of being an amputee. I am truly saddened by the news of John´s passing. My prayers go out to his family and friends during this sad time.
