John M. "Jack" MacManus, of Church Avenue, Warwick, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, January 18, 2026, at Rhode Island Hospital in Providence after a 10-year illness at the age of 82 years young! Born in Providence, he was the son of the late John M. and Alice (Jordan) MacManus.

He was a beloved brother, uncle, lifelong teacher, and a compassionate mentor who offered guidance and support to many walking through difficult times.

An avid gardener, passionate reader, and world traveler, Jack met and connected with people everywhere he went. He showed up for every important family event, demonstrating his deep love for his family.

Jack's legacy of compassion, wisdom, and genuine friendship will live on in the hearts of all he touched and he will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him- his family, friends, and those he regarded as his adopted children.

He is survived by three siblings, Margaret Hayes of Chicago, Norine Bonanno of New York and Kevin MacManus; several beloved nieces and nephews along with the daughter of his heart Laura. He was the brother of the late Michaela Keough and James MacManus.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 22, 2026, from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. in the Barrett and Cotter Funeral Home, 1328 Warwick Avenue, Warwick, RI, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in the Cathedral of Saints Peter & Paul, 30 Fenner Street, Providence, RI 02903. Interment will follow in Mount St. Mary Cemetery, Pawtucket, RI.
