John R. Marco Sr., 93 years old, born January 17,1932
at home on Delaware Ave in Dongan Hills
Staten Island, NY., a lifelong native Staten Islander,
and husband to the former Ursula Barbera, also a native Staten Islander, died June 14, 2025.
In addition to his wife Ursula, he is survived by his children Rosemary Scott, Joseph Marco, Joy Green, son in law Steven Green, daughter in law Audrey Marco, his grandchildren Joseph John Marco, Jesse Marco, Jaqulyne Marco, Tara Vickery, Lawrence Scott, Emma Marco, Francesca Green, Steven Green Jr., Michael Green and Genevieve Green, Great grandfather to Mariah and Isabel Marco and Thane Vickery. He is the brother of Richard P. Marco, brother in law to Francis Marco, and uncle to Joyce, Toni Marie, Richard, Denise and Michelle.
He is predeceased by his son John Marco Jr. grandson Keith Marco, his parents, Richard and Rose (Mustari) Marco and his sister in law, Giovanna Fontana.
John received his certificate in printing from The New York School of Printing, Manhattan after attending McKee High School.
He worked as a printer for nearly 4 decades, starting at Carnegie Press, then Sterling Press and finished his career at B. H Tyrell, retiring in 1989, as a bindery foreman.
A true sports enthusiast, John bowled in the Tom McGuire bowling league at Rab's Country Lanes on several teams.
He enjoyed roller skating and was the manager of the Rinky Dink roller rink in Tottenville in the 1970's,
and served as a football official for 35 years for The Staten Island Touch Tackle League and Staten Island Pee Wee League.
He enjoyed traveling with his wife many times a year to such places as Atlantic City, Florida, Las Vegas, the Dominican Republic and California, where he celebrated both his 70th and his 90th birthdays, with his children and grandchildren. He enjoyed cruises, and spent his 91st birthday on a family cruise to Bermuda.
He will be fondly remembered for his punctuality, his spunk, and for being the guy who would give you the shirt off his back.

Burial will be at St. Mary's Cemetery immediately following.
