MATA John Henry Mata III, known as "John- John" and "Johnny" age 48 entered into eternal rest on Sat July 12, 2025. He was born on July 28, 1976, in Pasadena, Texas, to his parents, Johnny Mata Jr. and Mary Helen Padron Mata. Johnny was a proud graduate of Alice High School, Class of 1994. Upon graduation he started his career in the oil field industry. Later in life he decided to get out of the oil field and work with his father as a mechanic for a time. He then decided to work for himself and make his own way in life. Everyone knew Johnny as a lover of loud music and gaming, a hard working man, and a truck enthusiast. Johnny was always in touch with his inner kid, playing, laughing, and joking around with his nieces, nephews, and children. Johnny was a husband to Serina H. Mata, long time separated but still connected through their children. Their son, John Henry Mata IV and their beautiful daughter, Corina Renae Mata. Johnny was a loving and playful brother to his sister Catherine Brandi Brunn known as "BB" and to his nieces and nephews. Johnny was loved by his family and friends and will be missed more than words can express. He was preceded in death by his, mother, Mary Helen Padron Mata. Johnny is survived by his son, John Henry Mata IV of Alice, Texas; his daughter, Corina Renae Mata of Alice, Texas; his father, Johnny Henry (Dinny) Mata of San Diego, Texas; his wife, Serina Helga Mata; his sister, Catherine (Adam) Brunn of Alice, Texas; step brother, Aaron Javier Mata of San Diego, Texas; his companion, Lydia Narvaez; nieces and nephews, Adam G. Brunn III, Summer Brunn (Alberto Ayala), Amber Brunn (Jerimiah Villarreal), Skylar Brunn (David Moreno) , Aiden Brunn, Sailor Brunn; great nephew, Grayson Ayala. Visitation will be held from 12 noon to 2:00 p.m. on Friday, July 18, 2025, at Garza Funeral Home in San Diego, Texas with a Rosary and Funeral Service at 2:00 p.m. that day. Interment will follow to the San Diego Cemetery II in San Diego, Texas. Anyone wishing to leave condolences for the family may do so at www.garzafuneralhome.com. Arrangements entrusted to Garza Funeral Home.
