Roel R. Olvera passed away after a short illness on August 23, 2025
He was a proud father to his two children, Roel R. Olvera II and ReAnna Olvera.
Roel graduated San Diego High School in 1980 and received Bachelor's in Accounting from Texas A&I University. He worked as a computer programmer in Corpus Christi Army Depot. He loved fishing, hiking, and listening to music. His favorite band was The Eagles.
Roel was preceded in death by his father, Rafael Saenz Jr.; his brother, Arnoldo Olvera Jr.; nephew, Roberto R. Saenz II.
He is survived by his loving mother, Juanita T. Saenz; his brothers, Robert (Monica) Saenz and Ralph (Gracie) Saenz; his sister/cousins, Loura (Roel) Perez and Chrissy (David) Torres. He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends who will deeply miss him.
His memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved him.
Memorial Service will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, August 28, 2025, at St. Francis De Paula Catholic Church in San Diego, Texas. Burial of cremains will follow at San Diego Cemetery in San Diego, Texas.
