John Dallas Mathews of North Wales went home to be with the Lord very suddenly on Sunday, August 31, 2025. He was the beloved husband of Christina (Schairer) Mathews, loving father of Jason Mathews and his wife Tyler Manning and doting grandfather of Josephine and Cole. Jack was born on November 8, 1944 in Philadelphia to the late Charles C. and Dorothy (Dallas) Mathews.

Jack loved his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, his family and his country. He was a proud veteran of the US Army. After basic training he was sent to the Defense Language School in Monterrey, California to learn Burmese. Upon completion he was assigned to the Pentagon as a Burmese translator. Jack was also a lifetime member of the Pennsylvania Society of Sons of the Revolution.

Jack was a longtime member of Grace Mennonite Church in Lansdale where he was on the board of the Rainbow Express Preschool and the Financial Secretary for over 20 years. He was a man of many interests and he enjoyed basketball and especially playing pool. He was a member of various pool teams and even played in Las Vegas tournaments. Jack loved coaching his son's soccer and basketball teams for many years. He was also a member of Branch Valley Fish, Game and Forestry Association in Perkasie.

Jack had a BS in Accounting from Valparaiso University and an MBA in Finance from Temple's Fox School of Business. He was a self-employed Certified Public Accountant and a member of both the AICPA and PSTPA (formerly PSPA)

Jack and Tina were devoted to each other and were blessed to have had 52 years of marriage. They had many wonderful trips and adventures together. Jack was a very special person and he will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him.

In addition to his immediate family he is survived by sisters Susan Saldutti, wife of Francis, and Barbara Griffin, wife of Robert and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Wednesday, September 10, 2025 from 10:00AM to 10:45AM at Grace Mennonite Church, 630 York Ave., Lansdale, with a funeral service to begin at 11:00AM. Burial to follow in Whitemarsh Memorial Park.
