John Robert "Jack" Mayfield, 81, of Liberty Borough, passed away Friday, December 12, 2025. Jack was born January 14, 1944 in West Newton and was the son of the late John Henry and Margaret D. (Dale) Mayfield. He was the husband of the late Barbara Rose (Huemme) Mayfield, who passed away January 1, 2023. He was a graduate of Point Park College. Jack worked many years in the banking industry, working for the same company, but many locations and various name changes, now known as PNC Bank. It is there where he met his beloved wife, when they worked together in The People's Building in McKeesport. He was a member of Central Highlands Community United Methodist Church in Elizabeth Township. Jack was a simple man who enjoyed sitting in the same chair watching TV, some of his favorite things to watch were The History Channel, and How It's Made, to name a few. He enjoyed reading the newspaper, especially "the funnies". Jack was also a homebody who enjoyed puttering. He learned how to be handy around the house at his wife's persuasion. He will be greatly missed. He is survived by his sons, Michael (Angie) Mayfield and Adam (Jessi) Mayfield; granddaughter, Katherine "Kat" Mayfield; brother, James (Janice) Mayfield and numerous other extended family. There will not be any visitation, a celebration of life will be held at a later date. Arrangements are by the Gilbert Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 6028 Smithfield Street, Boston, Elizabeth Township (412) 751-5000 Drew J. Gilbert, Director.
