John T. McAuliffe, 78, of Biddeford, passed away at home early Tuesday morning on November 4, 2025.

He was born in Biddeford on August 22, 1947, a son of Michael and Marie Jeanne (Custeau) McAuliffe.

John graduated from St. Louis High School, class of 1968. He participated in the high school band as a base drummer. His love of music continued as he was in the St. Louis Alumni Band for many years.

On June 7, 1969, John married his wife Doris Demers. The couple bought their first home in Saco and began to raise their family together.

He was employed by General Dynamics for 35 years. He retired from Praxair in Biddeford after 10 years of service.

A man of great faith, John was a parishioner of Most Holy Trinity Church. He volunteered for many of the church's building needs and served as an usher. This faith began at a young age as an altar boy for 12 years at St. Joseph's Church in Biddeford.

John had many interesting hobbies. He enjoyed gardening, music and watching movies. He followed local sports at Thornton Academy and also the New England Patriots and Boston Celtics. His family recalls his sense of humor, being kind and his great love of family. He will be sadly missed.

He was predeceased by two sister's Kathleen Belanger and Priscilla Provencher and by two brothers in law Henry Belanger and Bob Provencher.

He is survived by his wife Doris McAuliffe, daughters Judith Dubois and husband Normand, Angela McAuliffe and Kerry McAuliffe and fiancé Rich Breton. He is also survived by seven grandchildren Lea, Eris, Blake, Logan, Zackery, Connor and Alexis, one great grandchild Parker, siblings Michael McAuliffe and Patrick McAuliffe and nieces and nephews.
