John "Jack" McKiernan

John "Jack" McKiernan passed away on March 4th, 2026 at AristaCare, Whiting. Born in the Bronx, Jack, along with his wife, Johannah, settled in Iselin where they raised their three sons. An honorably discharged Corporal of the Marine Corps who worked as a bricklayer, he would come to call Whiting home after his retirement.

Jack would live a simple life in retirement, developing a fondness for fishkeeping and painting. More than anything, he loved his wife and took care of her through numerous health battles until her passing in 2012. He was unendingly generous, especially with his family, and loved animals, particularly dogs.

He is survived by his three sons: Jack, Timothy and his wife Nancy and Dennis. He also has four grandchildren: John, Griffin, Thomas and Ryley, as well as two great-grandchildren Victoria and Connor.

Family and friends are invited to gather on Wednesday, March 11, 2026, from 10:00am to 12:00pm at the Carmona-Bolen Home for Funerals, 66 Lacey Road, Manchester Township, New Jersey. A service will take place at the funeral home at 11:30am. Burial will immediately follow at the Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veteran's Cemetery, 350 Province Line Road, Wrightstown, New Jersey 08562.
