John Wayne Meredith

John Wayne Meredith, age 80, of Augusta, Arkansas passed away January 6, 2025.
He was born November 1, 1944 in Fair Oaks, Arkansas to the late Clarence Eugene Meredith and Sarah Plummer Meredith.
John worked in the same building for forty-five years, which was Augusta Corporation, Grinell, and Sloan Valve. He enjoyed spending time with his granddaughters, working in his shop, planting flowers and watching them grow. John spent a lot of time on his golf cart riding around the yard.
Those left to cherish memories of John include his wife of 58 years, Frances Hawkins Meredith, his daughter, Rhonda Meredith Akram (Bill), his granddaughters, Angelique Meredith Fischer (Kendl), and Annalisa Meredith. He had a special chosen daughter, Georgianna Lester, his sister, Virginia Yeager, and brother, Fred Meredith (Linda), brothers-in-law, Archie Hawkins (Delsia) and Robert Hawkins (Jo Ann) and a host of nieces and nephews.
John was preceded in death by his son, John-John Meredith II, his brothers, Eugene Meredith and James Meredith, brothers-in-law, Frankie Hawkins and James Hawkins, and his sister-in-law, Patricia Hooten.
Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, January 9, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at Powell Funeral Home in Augusta, Arkansas with Jeff Collins and Brother Bobby Bowen officiating. Visitation will be held prior to services beginning at 10:00 a.m. Interment will be in Augusta Memorial Park in Augusta, Arkansas.
Arrangements are entrusted to Powell Funeral Home of Woodruff County.
