John Milanowski Obituary

Visit the Becker Ritter Funeral Home & Cremation Services - Brookfield website to view the full obituary.
John A. Milanowski was born in Stevens Point, Wisconsin on January 30, 1930, and was born to eternal life on September 30, 2025, after several years of declining health.

John was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather who maintained a comfortable and welcoming home for decades in Brookfield. He was one of the kindest, sweetest and gentlest men you will ever meet. He was a smart and skilled handyman whose many skills included helping his neighbors and family members with plumbing, electrical and other repairs.

John proudly served in the military from 1951 to 1953 as a Marine sergeant specializing in helicopter repair. He worked the majority of his career as a metal fabricator primarily at Duwe Metal Products. He enjoyed hunting and fishing in his younger days and then slot machines and scratch off tickets in his later years. He played accordion under the stage name of 'Foxy'. He was an active member and president of the Brookfield Lions club. He and his wife, Lorraine, were also avid collectors and sellers of antiques, and they loved vacation travels.

He is survived by his sister Agnes; son John (Patricia) Milanowski and daughter Judy Milanowski; son-in-law Bill Cardiff; grandchildren Jessica (John) Magnuson, Randy (Lori) Milanowski, and Sara Milanowski; great-grandchildren Vanessa (Anthony), Hunter and Caden; as well as many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews from both the Milanowski and Beck families. He was preceded in death by his wife of 73 years, Lorraine; daughter Sharon Cardiff; parents Joseph and Mary Ann (Buza) Milanowski; brothers Peter, Ben and Eddie; sisters Gertrude, Bertha, Irene and Jean; and son-in-law John Wiedemann.

The family would like to thank The Danielson, White, Toussaint, and Beck Families, Dr. MacGaffey, Dr. Nangia, Dr. Naum, West Allis Memorial Hospital, the Congregational Home staff, and Legacy hospice team for the care and comfort they provided.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, October 11, in the Chapel of the Chimes at Wisconsin Memorial Park (13235 W. Capitol Drive, Brookfield, WI) at 9:30 a.m., with a service to follow at 11:00 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Disabled American Veterans (DAV.org) or the charity of your choice.
